Nintendo: Ashamed of Super Mario Sunshine?

While I’ll be the first to admit that Super Mario Sunshine is probably not among the upper-tier in a list of my favorite Mario games, I don’t think it’s a bad title. However, there are also those who would seemingly prefer to pretend that it never even existed– including Nintendo.

Nintendo has offered a survey to players of New Super Mario Bros. Wii– presumably through Club Nintendo– which asks participants to name the Mario games played prior to the recent four-player outing. Listed are the original NES trilogy, World, Land, 64, the DS New Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario Galaxy, plus a fill-in-your-own-answer blank.
